Christina Augustesen arbejder med væg- og gulvbaserede lysskulpturer, hvor kromatiske nuancer ved hjælp af kunstigt eller naturligt lys er et ekko af både mørke og lys, og de farver der opstår herimellem. Augustesens værker udforsker naturligt lys via tredimensionelle monolitter og vægmonterede relieffer. Her forandre værkerne sig alt efter beskuerens position og lyset. Værkerne med kunstigt lys er programerede i en rolig rytme, hvor farver og lysintensitet langsomt skifter. Christina Augustesen er uddannet på Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademis Arkitektskole, 2006. Bor og arbejder i København.

Christina Augustesen works with wall- and floor-based light sculptures, where chromatic shades using artificial or natural light are an echo of both darkness and light and the colors that arise in between. Augustesen’s works explore natural light via three-dimensional monoliths and wall-mounted reliefs. Here, the works change according to the viewer’s position and the light. The works with artificial light are programmed in a calm rhythm, where colors and light intensity slowly change. Christina Augustesen is educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture, 2006. Lives and works in Copenhagen.
