Signe Jais

Signe Jais creates wall-based works with rigorous figures created from threads on paper. The works are inspired by mathematics and geometry as well as the paper samples, plates and other kinds of paper, which she collects. These are micro sculptural works, where spaces arise between the threads, the paper and the framing.
Signe Jais (b. 1967) is educated at The Royal Danish Art Academy in 1996. She has exhibited in Denmark and abroad. In 2024 she exhibited in a dialog with Franciska Clausen at the art museum Brundlund Slot in Aabenraa. She is represented in several collection e.g. New Carlsberg Fundation, Novo Nordisk, Copenhagen Municipality, Art at Work and The Danish Arts Fundation.
